There are a handful of issues that I’ll be working on right away, including monitoring the E. Wash reconstruction; keeping tabs on the Water Utility and their efforts to improve the quality of our water and their communication with the public; the proposed renovation of Warner Park stadium; the Northport/Warner park neighborhood plan update; and long range planning for the Metro bus system. I’ve also got a list of things some of you asked me to look into during the campaign, including traffic calming in various areas, so I’ll be continuing to work on those item as well.

As I become more familiar with city departments and the Council process, I’ll be working on the things you made it clear you care about: Safe neighborhoods, transportation that works for everyone, and support for local businesses and working families. But my number one priority will always be communication with the residents of district 12, making sure you have the information you need about city government and making sure your voices are heard in city hall.

As I said during the campaign, I believe the first responsibility of an Alder is to listen to and be responsive to her constituents. I look forward to the next phase of our partnership.
